A pack of stray dogs attacked at least 15 people, including several morning walkers, injuring some of them seriously, in Vemulawada of Rajanna Sircilla district on Tuesday.

The incident created panic among local residents, prompting renewed demands for urgent steps to control the rampant stray dog menace in the temple town.

Incidents of stray dog bites were reported from Pochammaveedhi, Market Road, Subashnagar and a few other localities in the town on Tuesday morning.

The injured were shifted to the Government Area Hospital in the town where they were administered anti-rabies vaccines.
