Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday unveiled the foundation for the construction of a battery pack manufacturing unit by Ashok Leyland in Kancheepuram district. The project, to be implemented at Pillaipakkam, with an investment of ₹500 crore, is expected to provide employment for about 200 people.
Mini Tidel Parks
The Chief Minister also unveiled the foundation for the construction of Mini Tidel Parks by the Industries Department in Karur, Nagapattinam and Pudukkottai districts at a total cost of ₹119 crore. These parks are expected to generate employment for about 1,800 professionals.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the State government and Hirose Group over establishing a electrical/ electronic connectors manufacturing unit in Tiruvallur district at a cost of ₹100 crore. This project is expected to generate employment for over 100 people.
At another event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the State government and the University of California, Berkeley, for strengthening ties to promote green energy in the State. The Chief Minister unveiled the foundation stone for the construction of a training unit for ex-servicemen hailing from the State in St. Thomas Mount in Chengalpattu district. The unit, spread over 59,600 sq.ft., will be constructed at a total cost of ₹35 crore.
Mr. Stalin also launched the distribution of appointment orders to about 250 medical professionals who have been recruited in the fields of obstetrics & gynaecology, radiology, forensic medicine, geriatrics, cardio-thoracic surgery by the Medical Services Recruitment Board. During the series of events in the Secretariat, Mr. Stalin also released the souvenir by Tamilarasu under the Tamil Development Department that captured the achievements of the government between 2021 and 2026.
Mr. Stalin handed over appointment orders for 45 candidates, who have been recruited to the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor, Grade-II post by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. He also handed over appointment orders to seven candidates recruited into the Animal Husbandry Department. Ministers S. Regupathy, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and T.R.B. Rajaa; legislator J. Mohamed Shanavas Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials were also present in the Secretariat during these events. Wishing them a career in which they will serve the country towards its development, Mr. Stalin hoped that each of the candidates would make Tamil Nadu proud. As they become officers and become busy, they may not find time for rest adequately, the Chief Minister said. “My personal advice to you is, even if you have to take care of the country, you have to take care of your family too.”
Regardless of how busy officials are, they need to spend at least five minutes to take care of their parents, life partner and children, Mr. Stalin said. “At least you should make a phone call to enquire with care if they have taken their medicine.” This care and love would immemsely help the officials in their career development, the Chief Minister said.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Ministers P.K. Sekarbabu and N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj; Chennai Mayor R. Priya; Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials were also present.
