Stating that the people’s aspirations inspired him to experiment with WhatsApp governance, IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has said that the government intends to quickly move from a menu-based approach to a conversational, AI-driven approach using agentic AI to improve the outcomes.

Participating as the chief guest in the WhatsApp Citizen Engagement & Innovation Forum organised by Meta in New Delhi on Wednesday, Mr. Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh could not afford to lag when the entire country was active on WhatsApp, which was being used for ‘ease of living’, like few other States were able to do.

He claimed that Real Time Governance (RTG) set Andhra Pradesh apart from other States and that the Mana Mitra services began with high-traffic ones and moved to the less-used ones.

Answering questions asked by Sandhya Devanathan, vice-president & head of Meta India, Mr. Lokesh said A,P.’s data lake project ensured the integration of citizen data and observed that the WhatsApp services were being increasingly used by the rural folks.

“In a year, the A.P. government will evolve a WhatsApp governance model that is closest to perfection,” he said, pointing out that the people’s satisfaction level was rising as the best efforts were being made by the coalition government.
