Actor Urvashi on Saturday (December 20, 2025) remembered actor-director-screenwriter Sreenivasan as someone who made enormous contributions to Malayalam cinema.

Urvashi said the news of Sreenivasan’s passing was unexpected, as she had been hoping he would regain his health and return to cinema actively.

“I have had huge respect and love for him. He earnestly wanted me to excel in my work. I always wanted him to be healthy and well. He has left behind a lot of memories, stories and characters. He has written the best of my characters in films,” Urvashi told the media on Saturday.

She said on the recent occasions when she met Sreenivasan, his memory was as sharp as ever.

“I saw him last during the puja ceremony of a film in Ernakulam. We were all amused to see his excitement to remember old stories then,” she said.

Sreenivasan and Urvashi shared the screen in hit films, including Ponmuttayidunna Tharav and Thalayanamanthram, in addition to working together in several other movies written by him.
