The Department of Environmental Science and Engineering (SEAS), SRM University-AP, hosted the third edition of the Environmental Sustainability Exhibition (ESE 3.0), a national-level platform to promote innovation and collaboration in environmental protection and sustainable technologies, on Friday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Vice-Chancellor (I/C) Satish Kumar aligned the exhibition’s vision with global sustainability efforts. “Sustainability is not an abstract idea but a responsibility towards future generations. Platforms like ESE 3.0 enable students to dream, innovate, and contribute to India’s commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement,” he said, stressing the need for India to achieve net-zero emissions, citing Sikkim and Bhutan as examples.
The exhibition drew 155 participants from Punjab, Bihar, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, with around 60 exhibits — including 23 posters, 10 demos, and 25 oral presentations — representing colleges and universities across the country.
The winners received prizes of ₹20,000, ₹15,000, and ₹10,000 respectively. The first prize was bagged by Team P. Akhila and V. Yagneswari (Aditya University), followed by Swarna Baisa and Bhanu Naik Jaloth (SR University, Warangal), while J. Meghanasiri and P. Sharon (SRR & CVR Govt. Degree College) took third place.
The event was attended by Dean of SEAS C.V. Tomy, Associate Professor and Head of the Department Rangabhashiyam Selvasembian, along with heads of departments, faculty, staff, and students from universities and schools in the region.
