In the first case handled by the newly-launched Singappen Special Force (SSF), the force’s team nabbed a 36-year-old man after he allegedly trespassed into his neighbour’s house at Ayanavaram on Wednesday and sexually assaulted her.

The accused was handed over to the Ayanavaram All Women Police Station. A case was registered and he was remanded in judicial custody.

When the victim raised an alarm, neighbours rushed to her house and noticed the accused fleeing the spot.

They alerted the Chennai City Police Control Room, which passed on the information to SSF patrol team, who rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused, who was a security guard and a resident of Ayanavaram.
