DMK president and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) cautioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi “not to play with fire” – the proposed delimitation – and cautioned Union Minister Piyush Goyal to “mind his tongue” while speaking about Tamil Nadu and its people.

Campaigning for DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) candidates in Vellore and Tirupattur districts for the Assembly elections, Mr. Stalin said Mr. Goyal had been appointed only as the BJP’s in-charge for Tamil Nadu and should not speak about its people in a disrespectful manner. He accused the Union Minister of speaking arrogantly and assuming that people of the State would behave submissively.
