Senior BJP leader H. Raja collapsed on stage during a public event in Chennai on Friday, and was rushed to a private hospital.
Senior BJP leader and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, who is a doctor and was present at the venue, rendered emergency assistance and accompanied him to the hospital.
Dr. Soundararajan said she noticed Mr. Raja’s discomfort on stage when he was about to drink water and get up from his chair while she was seated off the dais. “I rushed to him, as he seemed weak and drowsy. I rendered emergency assistance, and we took him to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to another hospital and is relatively better now,” she added.
