He was speaking at the second and third-year convocation ceremony of Nrupatunga University in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Around 18 students were awarded gold medals, and 700 undergraduate and 4,081 postgraduate students were awarded degrees.

Honorary doctorate to six people

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Jayamala Ramachandra, senior litterateur S.G. Siddaramaiah, water resource management expert K. Jaiprakash, stage artist Srinivas G. Kappanna, Director-General of Police S. Mariswamy (retd.) and secretary of Bala Bhavan Nischal B.H. were awarded with honorary doctorates.
