Chief Minister’s economic adviser and MLA for Yelburga Basavaraj Rayaraddi on Sunday said there was no need to change Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as he is doing a good job, and asserted that if the party ever wants a leadership change, it must necessarily seek the opinion of MLAs and consider AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge as an alternative.
Speaking to presspersons at Kolur-Katralli in Koppal district, Mr. Rayaraddi said he had met Mr. Kharge last week and discussed political developments in the State. “I have urged him to put an end to the unnecessary confusion being created over the leadership issue in Karnataka. I have also suggested that the Cabinet be reconstituted by dropping around 25 Ministers and providing opportunities to both newcomers and seniors,” he said.
