The upcoming facility will be established at Naidupeta Industrial Park in Nellore district and will feature a 4 GW TOPCon solar cell unit along with a 5 GW silicon ingot and wafer plant. The project is expected to generate around 3,500 direct jobs, with thousands of additional employment opportunities as the ecosystem expands.

In a post on X, highlighting the government’s swift facilitation of the project, HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) fast-tracked the allocation of 269 acres of land within record time. “Discussions began in October 2024, and the land was allotted by February 2025,” he noted.

The project location offers strong logistical advantages due to proximity to major ports and has been supported with proactive incentives from the State government. With plans to scale production to 7 GW, the project positions Andhra Pradesh as a leading solar manufacturing hub in India.

“Andhra Pradesh is proud to welcome India’s second-largest integrated solar cell and module manufacturer,” said Mr. Lokesh. “This investment drives backward integration, strengthens our green economy, and creates sustainable jobs for our youth.”
