The Telangana High Court dismissed a writ petition filed by a youngster seeking a direction to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Mumbai to shortlist him for personal interview for admission into two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka of the HC, pronouncing verdict in the writ petition filed by Kataru Satya Sai, who secured overall percentile of 99.82 in CAT-2025, said the petitioner sought to convert a competitive selection process into a matter of right based on overall percentile, ignoring the mandatory requirement o sectional cut-offs. The judge noted that fixation of cut-offs was the prerogative of the academic authorities.
