The Cuddalore Government General Hospital experienced a power outage from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday (March 21, 2026) night causing significant hardship for patients and their attendants.
According to official sources, the power outage struck the Intensive Care Unit and the General Ward. The lack of lights and fans affected elderly patients and women. However, patients on ventilator support were immediately secured.
Officials said the outage occurred due to damage to a power line near the ICU. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation was immediately informed and the power supply was restored around 8 p.m.
