The Cabinet meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday approved the detailed guidelines for the post-extreme poverty eradication project. The second phase of the Extreme Poverty Eradication Project (EPEP 2.O) was announced by the State government during the declaration of Extreme Poverty Eradication in the State on November 1. As part of this, the State government has plans to lift those just above the extreme poor category out of poverty. The government also aims at sustainable interventions to ensure that families that have been freed from extreme poverty do not fall back into extreme poverty.
