Senior BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that he had campaigned for only two days and addressed three meetings for the recent Jubilee Hills bypoll, and there were efforts to ‘obstruct’ him by denying permissions.

He asserted that he would continue working to strengthen the party and its vote bank with renewed vigour. “Being a Minister, MP, or even politics itself, is not important for me. My objective is to ensure that all political parties compete for the majority community’s votes. I will not step back for fighting for my religion, and I am not afraid of anyone,” he said while addressing a community gathering.

“There is nothing wrong in having a caste identity, but we should not forget that we are Indians first and fortunate to be Hindus. I appeal to all castes to unite,” he said, also urging those who have converted to other religions to return to the fold.

“I am not trying to disrespect any religion, but I will speak proudly about my own,” Mr. Sanjay Kumar added, praising Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for his efforts to promote ‘Sanatana Dharma’.
