Osmania University receives USD 110,000 donation for engineering dept. from ex-student

Osmania University has received a combined donation of USD 110,000 from alumnus Tella Gopal Rao through the Tella Sakamoto Foundation, USA.

Of the total, USD 100,000 has been allocated to the department of Mining Engineering and USD 10,000 to the department of Electrical Engineering. The funding will support facilities for digital mining technologies, research, mining safety, extraction methods, and applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The contribution will also support construction work in the Electrical Engineering department.

Mr. Gopal Rao belongs to the class of 1960, Department of Mining Engineering, at the University College of Engineering (UCE).

The funds were routed through the alumni association of UCEOU. Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram, in a brief ceremony on Monday, handed over the financial allocation to the Telangana State Education & Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation.
