An obituary reference would be made in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Tuesday to the 41 victims of the Karur stampede, Speaker M. Appavu said on Monday. The Business Advisory Committee met on Monday and decided to hold the session till October 17.

Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Appavu said that soon after the proceedings started, obituary references would be read out on the passing of eight former legislators, the Karur stampede victims, former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren, Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan, CPI veteran Sudhakar Reddy, and IAS officer Beela Venkatesan.

The House would also adopt a condolence resolution on the passing of AIADMK legislator T.K. Amul Kandasamy before adjourning for the day. On October 15, the government would present the supplementary budget estimates.

The representations submitted recently by the PMK were under his consideration, Mr. Appavu said. He said the Question Hour would be conducted on all the three days from October 15.
