In a noteworthy act of philanthropy, U.S.-based NRI Mantena Ramalinga Raju on Wednesday donated ₹9 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for the modernisation of pilgrim accommodation complexes in Tirumala. The contribution was made in the name of his daughter Nethra Mantena and son-in-law Vamsi Gadiraju.

TTD Chairman B. R. Naidu felicitated the donor at a media conference at Padmavathi Rest House and praised his continued support to the temple administration. He also recalled Mr. Raju’s earlier contribution of ₹16.06 crore in 2012 and lauded his commitment to improving amenities for the millions of devotees visiting the hill shrine.

Mr. Naidu said the repeated contributions reflected Mr. Raju’s deep devotion and his support for key infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the pilgrim experience. He expressed hope that the NRI philanthropist would continue extending support to future initiatives of the TTD.

Vizianagaram MP Kalisetty Appala Naidu, TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, and other officials were present.
