Amid concerns over LPG availability, the Gujarat government on Friday (March 20, 2026) clarified that there is no shortage of cooking gas in the state and urged citizens not to heed rumours. Authorities said adequate stock is available and distribution systems are functioning smoothly, with doorstep delivery ensuring consumers do not need to visit gas agencies or stand in queues.

Officials stated that oil marketing companies have strengthened technology-driven booking systems, enabling consumers to order LPG cylinders through multiple digital platforms, including WhatsApp, missed calls, SMS, mobile applications, and online portals.

According to the State government, registered consumers can book refills through the following channels:

Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL): WhatsApp (7588888824), call from registered number (8454955555), SMS/IVRS (7718955555), IndianOil ONE app, and the official portal.

HP Gas: WhatsApp (9222201122), call (9493602222), SMS/IVRS (8888823456), HP PAY app, and online portal.

Bharatgas: WhatsApp (1800224344), call (7710955555), SMS/IVRS (7715012345), HelloBPCL app, and the Bharatgas portal.

Consumers can also use the Bharat Bill Payment System via banking apps and digital wallets for booking. Authorities said all bookings are processed through a streamlined system with SMS confirmations sent to customers.

The government added that delivery is being prioritised for domestic consumers, with a growing buffer stock ensuring timely doorstep supply across the state.

Residents from different districts reported smooth delivery services. Mahipalsinh Pratapsinh Parmar from Thasra in Kheda district said cylinders are being delivered regularly without delays. Paresh Vora also noted prompt service following bookings. Nazim Khan Nabi Khan Pathan from Kalsar village said LPG availability remains steady, while Harish Chandrasinh Bhati, manager of a gas agency in Modasa, confirmed adequate stock and daily supply, assuring deliveries within two days.

To ensure transparency and prevent irregularities, the state government has deployed revenue and police officials to monitor LPG distribution across both public and private agencies.

For assistance, citizens can contact the state LPG helpline at 1800-233-0222, officials said, adding that efforts are ongoing to maintain seamless supply and provide accurate information to the public.
