The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Saturday clarified that it has not announced any scheme offering free metro travel for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans on May 31, amid social media posts and advertisements claiming free services ahead of the IPL final.

In a statement, BMRCL said it had neither approved nor authorised any individual, organisation, or entity to promote or advertise free travel on Namma Metro for RCB supporters or any other category of passengers.

The corporation reiterated that all passengers must purchase valid tickets for commuting. BMRCL urged the public not to rely on unauthorised social media posts, advertisements, or messages and advised commuters to verify information only through official communications issued by the corporation.
