New hospitality projects in the pipeline, says Varun Group chairman

New Hospitality projects are being planned in Amaravati and Hyderabad and a project named “Varun Bay Sands” is coming up on the Beach Road in Visakhapatnam, announced Varun Group Chairman V. Prabhu Kishore on Monday (September 22, 2025) on the occasion of Varun Group of Industries 75th anniversary.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu participated as the chief guest in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Varun Group of Industries on Monday. Mr. Naidu said the Varun Group achieved remarkable progress in the automobile sector, and that it deserved appreciation for withstanding the volatile business environment that prevailed over the last several year.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu, Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, Nara Bhuvanesvari and others were also present.

Meanwhile, addressing the media at Novotel Vijayawada Varun on Monday, Mr. Prabhu Kishore said the legacy that began in 1950 with the vision of his father, late Kesavarao Choudhary, has today transformed into a multi-dimensional enterprise.

Kesavarao Choudhary founded Padmaja Commercial Corporation (PCC) in Vijayawada, dealing in Zetor Tractors and Royal Enfield Motorcycles. With a workforce of over 21,600 employees and 856 customer touchpoints, the Group today sells more than 1.70 lakh vehicles annually and services to over 20+ lakh vehicles each year, he said.

Mr. Prabhu Kishore joined the family business in 1975. Carrying forward this legacy, the third generation, Varun Dev, took charge in 2007 as the Managing Director. “Today, the Varun Group stands as the top dealer for Suzuki four-wheelers and two-wheelers as well as for Bajaj two-wheelers and three-wheelers,” Mr. Prabhu Kishore added.

The Varun Group entered the hospitality sector in 2011, Mr. Prabhu Kishore recalled, with the launch of Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach. The Group went on to develop Novotel Bheemili Resort and Novotel Vijayawada. A property, of Novotel and Ibis Styles together, is currently under construction in Bengaluru, he added.

In 2010, the Group launched seven Varun Training Institutes to empower unemployed youth with skills and jobs. Till date, more than 4,000 people have been trained and employed, he added.

Mr. Varun Dev and Joint Managing Director, Varun Hospitality, Varsha, were also present at the press conference.
