The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Monday (May 4, 2026) asked the State government to appoint a special public prosecutor in the Nasrapur rape and murder case. It also asked the government to move the case to a fast-track court.
The Nasrapur case pertains to an alleged rape and murder of a four-year-old girl in Pune’s Bhor taluka on May 1. It had led to a night-long protest on the Pune-Bengaluru highway, police baton charge, and a bandh call in the region.
