Motivational speaker Munawar Zama called upon students and young people to learn the art of living in what he described as the ‘age of ideas’ by constantly embracing new thinking and developing skills suited to the changing times.

He was speaking at a personality development lecture organised at the United College of Physiotherapy in Kalaburagi. Students, parents, and faculty members listened to the lecture, which was followed by an interactive session in which Mr. Zama responded to questions from the audience.

He observed that in the present era, innovation and creativity play a crucial role in shaping one’s future. He remarked that shorter and more engaging forms of communication often have a greater impact today, and, therefore, individuals should continuously strive for novelty and self-improvement in their chosen fields.

Referring to concerns about job loss in the age of artificial intelligence, he said such fears were often exaggerated. While competition had certainly increased, he stressed that individuals who continuously upgrade their skills and remain persistent in their efforts could successfully achieve their goals. He compared sustained effort to the unceasing waves of the sea, emphasising the importance of perseverance.

Mr. Zama advised students not to study merely to pass examinations, but to pursue deeper knowledge and develop communication skills, determination, and a spirit of hard work. Marks alone, he said, were not the true measure of success. Rather, it is knowledge, competence, and the ability to face challenges that lead to progress.

Highlighting the importance of emotional resilience, he said silence could sometimes be the best response to certain problems. He urged young people to remain calm in difficult situations. He also stressed the value of good company, respect for parents and teachers, and the courage to face hardship as essential qualities for achieving success.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Zama urged young people not to become complacent after achieving a goal but to continue striving for higher accomplishments. He encouraged students to cultivate the habit of reading books, observing that reading could inspire them to scale greater heights of achievement.

Dr. Vikram Siddareddy, Chairman of United Hospital and founder of the college, presided over the programme. He said that such events were organised with the objective of enhancing learning abilities of students and motivating them to excel. He noted that the United College of Physiotherapy had developed into a model institution with modern facilities aimed at preparing students for the high-tech medical field, and added that more courses were planned in the future.
