A minor landslip occurred between Thiruvananthapuram South Station (Nemom) and Thiruvananthapuram Central at around 3 p.m. on Saturday following heavy rain in the region. .

The land slip forced the Railways to rush its engineering officials and staff immediately to the site and restoration work was commenced without delay.

After carrying out the necessary safety measures and track inspection, the track was certified fit for train operations at 4.10 p.m.. Train No. 16366 Nagercoil – Kottayam Daily Passenger and Train No. 22627 Tiruchchirappalli – Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express passed after ensuring safety of the track.

Train services in the section have resumed duly observing safe movement of trains, said a statement issued by the Railways here on Saturday.
