A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped after being dragged inside a government school by two men and a minor boy in Madhya Pradesh’s Mauganj district, police said on Sunday (November 9, 2025). The accused have been arrested, they added.

According to the police, the incident took place on Friday (November 7, 2025) evening around 8 p.m. in a village under Laur police station area when the minor girl was out of her home to fetch water. The three accused forced her into the compound of a primary school nearby. Her mother discovered her in an unconscious state after searching for her as she had not returned for sometime.

Mauganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Dileep Soni told The Hindu that after regaining consciousness, the girl narrated the incident to her mother, who lodged a complaint on Friday (November 7, 2025) night and the three accused were arrested by the next morning. A case has also been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Mr. Soni said that the survivor’s medical examination was conducted and she received treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in neighbouring Rewa district. The two men have been sent to judicial custody by a court while the minor accused has been sent to a juvenile home.

“The girl and the accused are residents of the same village and the girl’s mother used to work in the fields of the accused. The minor accused also used to go to the same school where the girl studies. He has now quit studies,” Mr. Soni said, adding that the girl is a student of Class 9.

“Her father works outside while she lives in the village with her mother, brother and sister,” he added.
