Panic gripped passers-by for some time after a minor fire broke out near the emergency exit area of the Nagasandra Metro Station on Sunday afternoon.

According to a statement issued by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the incident occurred at around 1.30 p.m. and involved a signboard located near the station’s emergency exit.

Metro operations and fire response teams rushed to the spot and swiftly extinguished the fire. Officials said the situation was brought under control immediately.

The BMRCL clarified that there were no injuries or any other untoward incidents. Metro train services remained unaffected and continued to operate normally throughout the incident.

Officials, along with the technical teams, are investigating to ascertain the cause of the fire. The corporation appealed to the public not to panic, as normalcy was restored after a quick response.
