Gloom has engulfed Nizamuddin Colony in Kagaznagar town of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district on Thursday morning as the news of the tragic death of four residents of the colony in a ghastly road accident at Sondo village in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra in the small hours of the day, unfolded.
Four women, including the wife and daughter of Zakir, an autorickshaw driver of Nizamuddin Colony, and their two relatives, were reportedly killed in the accident. Four other occupants of the car suffered grievous injuries, sources said.
The incident occurred when the car they were travelling in fell off a bridge and plunged into a dried-up stream near Sondo village, shortly after Wednesday midnight.
Sources said that Zakir’s family members, along with their relatives, had gone to Nagpur on Wednesday morning for treatment of one of their relatives at a local hospital. They were on their way back when the accident took place.
The injured persons were admitted to a hospital in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur town. The condition of one of them was said to be critical.
