Minister for Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar on Wednesday asserted that no eligible student should be denied admission to Gurukul institutions due to administrative lapses. He directed officials to ensure a transparent and fair seat allotment process.

During a surprise inspection at the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) headquarters at Masab Tank here, he reviewed the ongoing admission process and interacted with parents and guardians who had travelled from different parts of the State seeking admissions for their children.

Several parents raised concerns over allotment of seats in the districts, citing financial and transportation hardships. Responding to the grievances, Mr. Laxman Kumar instructed officials to make every effort within the prescribed guidelines to allot seats in locations that are convenient for economically disadvantaged families.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the functioning of some officials, he stressed that there was no room for negligence when the government was investing heavily in strengthening the gurukul education. With better infrastructure, nutrition, residential facilities and quality education, he said the institutions would continue to be strengthened.
