A 38-year-old man allegedly murdered his three minor children on Friday in Thanjavur. The police said the accused Vinothkumar of Gopalasamudhram near Madukkur surrendered at the Madukkur Police Station after committing the crime.
According to the police, the accused, who was serving as a waiter at a hotel in Madukkur, had been married to Nithya, 35, of Aavikkottai. They had three children — Oviya, 12, Keerthi, 8, and Eeswaran, 5. Six months ago, Nithya allegedely deserted him and the children.
On Friday evening, Vinothkumar murdered his three children using a lethal weapon and subsequently surrendered at the Madukkur police station. The Madukkur police have registered a case and are investigating.
