The police on Monday (March 16, 2026) arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl at Chintalapudi mandal in Eluru district. The accused has been identified as B. Ramulu, Chintalapudi Circle Inspector Kranthi Kumar said.
The police said that the girl’s grandmother lodged a complaint alleging that Ramulu, who was their neighbour, was sexually abusing her granddaughter. The Chintalapudi police registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and other charges against the accused, the CI said. The girl was sent for medical examination, he added.
