SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala, to collaborate on technical education, research, faculty development, and academic exchange.

According to the MoU, the institutions will collaborate in academic and research activities, including exchange of faculty, students, and scholarly resources, and organise joint seminars, workshops, conferences, and expert lectures. They would also collaborate in emerging technology areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, automation, and green energy, a press release stated.

The agreement will provide opportunities for higher education for Indian Navy personnel with up to eight M.Tech seats a year and up to six PhD seats annually at SRMIST. Besides, faculty members from Naval Academy could be co-guides for doctoral students.

The MoU was signed by Captain G. Sowjanya Sree, Registrar (AoD), Indian Naval Academy, and S. Ponnusamy, Registrar, SRMIST, in the presence of Rear Admiral G. Rambabu, Principal, Indian Naval Academy, and C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST.
