Major IAS reshuffle in Kerala; B. Ashok is Principal Secretary, Higher Education, and N. Prashanth, Special Secretary, Sports

As part of a major reshuffle on Monday, the Kerala government posted B. Ashok, a 1998 batch IAS officer whose suspension was revoked on June 6, as Principal Secretary, Higher Education department.

N. Prashanth, the other IAS officer whose suspension also was revoked on June 6, is the new Special Secretary, Sports department. Mr. Prashanth will hold full additional charge of Special Secretary, Youth Affairs, Zoos, Museum, Archaeology, and Archives departments.

Rathan U. Kelkar, who recently took charge as Secretary to the Chief Minister, will hold full additional charge as Secretary to the newly-formed Department for the Welfare of the Elderly as well as the departments of Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation, and Information and Public Relations.

Bishwanath Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Vigilance), will hold full additional charges of the Coir Development department and Housing department in addition to his existing additional charge of the Water Resources department.

K.R. Jyothilal, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), will hold full additional charge of the Planning and Economic Affairs department and Member-Secretary, Kerala State Planning Board. He will continue to hold the additional charges of the Taxes department, Rebuild Kerala Initiative, and Public Procurement Advisory department. Rajan N. Khobragade, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), will continue to hold the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, AYUSH department.

M.G. Rajamanickam is the new Chairman and Managing Director of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). He will hold the additional charges of Secretary, Power, Environment, and Parliamentary Affairs departments. The present KSEB CMD, Minhaj Alam, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture department, and as the Agriculture Production Commissioner.

Raju Narayanaswamy has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Sainik Welfare department. Sharmila Mary Joseph is the new Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare. She will hold full additional charges of the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department.

Tinku Biswal will continue to hold additional charge of Director General, Institute of Management in Government.

Biju K. has been posted Secretary, Forests and Wildlife department. He will hold full additional charges of Skill Development department and Cashew department, in addition to his existing additional charges of the General Administration department and Tourism department.

T.V. Anupama has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Transport department. She will hold the full additional charge of Airports, Metro Rail, Personnel and Administrative Reforms departments in addition to her existing additional charges of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development and Backward Classes Development department.

Adeela Abdulla has been posted as Special Secretary, Public Works. Jeevan Babu has been posted as Special Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management; Suhas S. as the new Special Secretary, Water Resources department, and Shanavas S., Special Secretary, Local Self Government department. Mr. Shanavas will hold full additional charges of Managing Director, Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala Ltd., and Special Officer, Capital Region Development Project.

Divya S. Iyer has been posted as Principal Director, Local-Self Government department. T.V. Subhash is Special Secretary, Agriculture department. Afsana Perween is the new Director, Collegiate Education. Ms. Perween will hold the full additional charge of Controller of Entrance Examinations. Geromic George has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty, Finance (Expenditure) department. He will hold full additional charge of Managing Director, Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd, and Chief Executive Officer, Kerala Maritime Board.

Asif K. Yusuf is the new Director, NORKA. Snehil Kumar Singh is the new Director of General Education. He will hold full additional charge of Chief Executive Officer, Education Rejuvenation Mission. Prem Krishnan S. has been posted as Registrar, Cooperative Societies.
