An additional assistant engineer of the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday while accepting a ₹25,000 bribe.

The accused, identified as B. Rama Krishna Reddy, working in IDA Bollaram, Sangareddy district, was trapped by ACB officials near his office.

According to the ACB, the official demanded the bribe from a complainant in exchange for not initiating action against him after his car damaged an electrical pole in an accident on June 12.

During the operation, ACB officials recovered the tainted bribe amount of ₹25,000 from the possession of the accused officer.

Following the trap, the official was taken into custody and was produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad.

Further investigation into the case is underway. The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.

The agency urged members of the public to report instances of bribery involving public servants through its toll-free helpline 1064, assuring that the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
