Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao on Thursday conducted an inspection of ongoing last-mile connectivity and footpath development works along metro corridors in the South Corporation limits.

During the visit, Mr. Rao reviewed the integrated footpath project from South End Circle–Abhaya Ganapathi Junction to Sangham Circle and instructed officials to complete drainage work and cobblestone laying on a priority basis.

The GBA chief noted the functioning biogas plant near South End Circle and the newly established Dry Waste Collection Centre and asked officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for waste management, including proper entry and exit facilities for waste-collection vehicles.

Mr. Rao also inspected the K–100 citizen waterway, walking along a 2-km stretch from Anepalya Junction to Shantinagar Bus Stand, and instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan to completely prevent sewage from entering the waterway.

He noted that sewage inflow has been largely controlled in many parts of the K–100 stretch and asked the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to survey remaining areas with uncontrolled inflow and submit a detailed solution plan immediately.

The GBA chief also directed officials to install CCTV cameras to monitor illegal dumping, identify households responsible, and maintain cleanliness along the waterway. Contractors have been asked to continuously remove silt and ensure public access to the walkway.
