The Maharashtra Government employees’ strike, which began on April 21, has been revoked. Vishwas Katkar, convener of the Employees’ Coordination Committee, had maintained that a concrete decision on the 18 demands would not be possible unless Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held an official meeting.

The Statewide indefinite strike by government employees, semi-government staff, and teaching and non-teaching personnel was called off on Thursday evening (April 23, 2026). The decision followed a meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, during which the administration agreed to address key demands.
