Lokayukta B.S. Patil visited various government offices housed in the district administration building in Yadgir on Tuesday and inspected them.

Mr. Patil heard grievances aired by people who came to find solutions for their civic problems.

After hearing a farmer Tippanna, native of Kadamgera village, the Lokayukta directed the Agriculture Department officers to submit a detailed report on the action taken against the company that supplied substandard cotton seeds.

According to the farmer, he bought cotton seeds from the company and they turned out to be substandard causing him a loss.

The Lokayukta then directed agriculture officers to submit comprehensive reports on the distribution of agriculture equipment, including sprinklers, to eligible farmers.

Then, Mr. Patil visited the Social Welfare Department and directed the officers there to maintain cleanliness in the hostel being run by the department and to ensure quality food to students staying in the department’s hostels.

“Officers should submit a report on their regular visits to hostels to inspect facilities being provided, including food, to students,” he said.

He directed Labour Department officers to take initiatives to create awareness among labour on the detrimental impact of consumption of alcohol and other intoxicants.

“Labour officers should take additional care in distributing labour card, health insurance and other benefits,” he added.

Lokayukta officers and also officers from various government departments were present.
