HYDERABAD

A live 9 mm bullet was recovered from the bag of a passenger at the Moosapet Metro Station on Saturday night. Kukatpally police booked a case.

According to officials, the incident came to light when Metro Rail staff detected the bullet during routine passenger screening and alerted the police.

On Sunday, investigators found that the bullet belonged to the boy’s stepfather, identified as Mohmad Alam, 28, a daily wage labourer engaged in fabrication work and residing at Pragathi Nagar, Moosapet. Alam, who hails from Bihar, reportedly brought the bullet from his native place. Police said further enquiry is in progress to ascertain the reason for possession and transport of the ammunition.
