A local public holiday has been declared for all the Government and private schools and colleges located in Adilabad district on October 7 on the occasion of Raj Gond tribal martyr Kumram Bheem’s 85th vardhanthi (death anniversary).

Hordes of tribal people from various parts of Telangana and other States including Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh are expected to visit Jodeghat village in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district to pay homage to the memorial of the legendary tribal martyr on Tuesday.

The tribal warrior sacrificed his life fighting for Jal, Jangal and Jameen rights of tribal people.

Kumram Bheem Vardhanthi will be observed at district headquarters and all mandal headquarters in the erstwhile Adilabad district on October 7.

December 13, 2025 (2nd Saturday) will be a working day for all the Government and private schools and colleges in Adilabad district in lieu of the local public holiday declared on October 7, 2025, Adilabad Collector Rajarshi Shah said in a press release.
