Kodagu may tighten homestay regulations; licence of unit linked to alleged sexual assault revoked

After cancelling the licence of a homestay in Kodagu following the alleged sexual assault of a woman from the U.S. on its premises, the Kodagu district administration is expected to tighten regulations governing such facilities that provide accommodation to tourists in the coming days.

According to sources in the Tourism Department in Madikeri, Deputy Commissioner of Kodagu, Somashekar S.J., cancelled the licence issued to the homestay located in Kutta following a report from the police.
