Keslapur village in Adilabad district’s Indervelli mandal is buzzing with activity with scores of Adivasis from far and wide congregating at the ongoing Nagoba Jatara site to participate in the annual mega fete.
The week-long annual tribal fair got off to a religious start around Sunday midnight with Sri Nagoba Maha Puja at Nagoba (serpent deity)’s anthill. A large number of Mesram clan Raj Gonds and Pardhans took part in the inaugural rituals.
‘Sri Nagoba Darbar’ (a traditional platform to enable Adivasis to air their grievances) will be held at the jatara venue on January 22.
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Nagoba jatara.
