This year’s Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda Jayanti will be held at the newly-developed Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda Layout on June 27, announced Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after a preparatory meeting of the Kempe Gowda Jayanthi, the Chief Minister said, “The programme to plant 15 lakh saplings across the city will also be launched. A new road in this layout will also be inaugurated.”

As part of the programme, he said separate teams will arrive from the four Kempegowda towers in the city. “Ramalinga Reddy, Krishna Byre Gowda, K.J. George and Byrathi Suresh will be in charge of the teams for each tower in Bengaluru. The Magadi team will be led by local MLA Balakrishna, and the side from Huliyurudurga will be led by Ranganath,” he said, adding that the programme at Kempegowda International Airport will be conducted by Minister K.H. Muniyappa.
