India and the United States signed an MoU on Wednesday to advance cooperation in critical and emerging technologies, expanding joint efforts in AI, defence, space, quantum computing, clean energy, and telecommunications.
Both nations emphasised the value of talent exchange and scientific collaboration, supported by partnerships between institutions like the Association of American Universities and the IITs.
The signing was attended by Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT, Biotechnology; Rahul Sharma, Managing Director, USIBC India; and Christopher Hodges, U.S. Consul General, Chennai.
50 start-ups
Earlier in the day, at the summit, the government also unveiled 50 innovative start-up products and solutions spanning IT/ITeS, AgriTech, MedTech, CleanTech, AI, DeepTech, IoT, Cybersecurity, AVGC, SaaS, and ESDM.
These products are designed and developed by start-ups incubated at GoK-supported K-tech Innovation Hubs, CoEs, or TBIs. Most of these start-ups are incubated at K-tech Innovation Hubs, Centres of Excellence, and Technology Business Incubators.
