Police to conduct public auction of seized vehicles in Vellore, nearby districts

The District Police in Vellore, Ranipet and Tiruvannamalai will conduct a public auction of seized vehicles, that were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985, around 2 p.m. at the Armed Reserve (AR) parade ground on October 30 in these districts.

According to a press release, such vehicles were seized during checks conducted by the law and order and crime units of the police at different places in these districts. A total of 60 vehicles, including 52 two-wheelers, and one autorickshaw are to be subjected to public auction.

Interested persons should pay an advance amount of ₹5,000 (for two-wheelers) and ₹10,000 (for four-wheelers) between 8 a.m. and noon at the venue on the appointed day. Only those who pay the advance amount, will be allowed to participate in the auction, the release said.
