The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and the State government’s Public Works Department (PWD) have decided to jointly undertake the development of roads in the industrial areas to improve the connectivity of factories, plants and manufacturing units.
As many as 38 roads will be developed on a cost-sharing model, with the RIICO bearing 50% of the total expenditure. Official sources said here on Wednesday (May 6, 2026) that since several industrial areas were connected to the State highways, the construction and strengthening of roads would facilitate smooth transportation of raw materials and finished products.
The initiative will strengthen infrastructure and improve connectivity within the State’s industrial areas. The approach roads to these areas, falling under the PWD’s jurisdiction, have an approximate length of 205 km and their strengthening and widening are estimated to incur an expenditure of Rs.290 crore.
The road projects will benefit the industrial areas situated in Abu Road, Ajmer, Balotra, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Churu, Dausa, Jaipur, Jalore, Jhalawar, Kota, Neemrana, Sawai Madhopur, Sriganganagar and Udaipur.
The PWD will execute the road works with the financial partnership of 50% each between the RIICO and PWD. The RIICO had earlier approved a proposal to contribute 50%, amounting to Rs.37 crore out of the total project cost of Rs.74 crore, towards the widening of a State highway and construction of a drainage system for benefiting the industrial areas situated in the Bhiwadi region.
