J.P. Nadda alleges Hemant Soren of betraying people of Jharkhand

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president J.P. Nadda on Saturday (December 6, 2025) accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)—Congress government, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, of giving a safe passage to the ‘infiltrators’ in Santhal Pargana.

‘Infiltrators’ have the protection of the State Government, and such a government needs to be uprooted and thrown out of power, Mr. Nadda said while addressing a conference of party workers in Deoghar after inaugurating party offices in Deoghar and Gumla districts.

“Slowly and gradually, the population of tribals is decreasing due to illegal infiltration. In 1951, the tribal population in Santhal Pargana was 45%, which has now come down to 28%. The High Court has ordered a probe, but the Hemant Soren government is not doing it. This is called the politics of vote bank and appeasement,”Mr. Nadda said.

“Now, there is a need for mukti (freedom) from Hemant Soren’s JMM. He has maligned the name of Jharkhand because he has betrayed and cheated the people of the State,” the BJP president said.

Referring to the promises made by the INDIA Bloc in their manifesto during the Jharkhand assembly election, the Union Health Minister said, “Has he (Mr. Soren) given a gas cylinder at ₹450, has he given 10 lakh jobs or health insurance up to ₹15 lakh? All of you must have got the Ayushman card under Modi ji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi). Are farmers getting MSP of ₹3,200 on paddy? This is the real face of JMM and Congress.”

He further alleged that Soren’s government was siphoning off money from the mining of natural resources, and it was no longer Abuwa Sarkar (our government), but Thaguwa Sarkar (government that cheats).

Attacking the Soren government over the law-and-order situation in the State, Mr. Nadda said that the Chief Minister has turned a tribal-dominated State into a centre of crime.

Accompanied by Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi, MP Nishikant Dubey and former Chief Minister Champai Soren, Mr. Nadda said the Congress has always been associated with the politics of appeasement and has ruled by engaging in religion and caste-based politics by dividing the society.

“Congress’s politics was to divide and fragment society; it was rooted in appeasement. But Modi ji has completely changed this, and now the politics of development is taking place,” Mr. Nadda said.

He also accused the Congress of being the ‘advocate of infiltrators’ and of never having taken any steps towards the upliftment of the tribals.

“We (BJP) are the world’s largest political party. We have ten lakh active workers. This is the only party where you don’t need to be born into a special family to become the national president. Here, you can rise from the booth level all the way to the national president,”Mr. Nadda said.

He said the NDA is ruling in 20 States, out of which the BJP is alone ruling in 13, and soon Jharkhand will become one of them.

Mr. Nadda said the BJP is the only ideological party, while the Congress and other parties have reduced themselves to dynastic outfits.

Highlighting the Bihar Assembly election results, Mr. Nadda said, “The Bihar results have just come out. While the Congress is stunned, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is unable to make sense of the outcome, and one party (the Vikassheel Insaan Party), which had dreamed of securing the Deputy Chief Minister’s post, could not win even a single seat. Another party managed to save its deposit in only three constituencies, while the rest were wiped out. This is the result of the unbreakable trust of Bihar’s people in Modi ji and the confidence in Nitish ji’s work.”

Before addressing the party workers, Mr. Nadda visited Baba Baidyanath Dham.

Reacting to Mr. Nadda’s remarks, JMM’s Central General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya told The Hindu, “The Centre has stopped each and every penny which Jharkhand deserves, the constitutional rights. Dues from the Centre amount to more than ₹1.50 lakh crore, and they are not releasing the money. They are the ones looting the PSU’s and handing over to Adani and Ambani.”

Mr. Bhattacharya further said, “They have given the land of Godda to Adani to produce electricity for Bangladesh and blame us that they are coming to vote here. They have a connection with Bangladesh. They have nothing to say as they have already lost ground in Jharkhand, and they will not come back in next 20 years as well.”
