The Federation of Revenue Associations (FERA) on Wednesday withdrew their boycott of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll after the Election Commission (EC) and the State government accepted most of their demands, including a revision of wages for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO supervisors.

According to sources in FERA, the boycott of SIR work by the Revenue Department staff began on Tuesday to press the EC and the State government to consider their demands, including an extension of the deadline for completing the work, an increase in wages, and the appointment of additional staff.

Meanwhile, the State government has issued an order enhancing the remuneration for BLOs and BLO supervisors. According to the order, the remuneration for BLOs has been increased from ₹6,000 to ₹12,000 per annum, with an additional grant of ₹2,000 as special incentive. The remuneration for BLO supervisors has also been increased from ₹12,000 to ₹18,000 per annum, on par with the minimum annual remuneration suggested by the EC.
