Bharatiya Janata Party MP Anurag Thakur participated in a public show of eating fish during a poll campaign in West Bengal on Tuesday (April 21, 2026). This comes as the saffron party tries to distance itself from the “veg-only” image in Bengal’s predominantly non-vegetarian eating society.

Mr. Thakur was in Kolkata to campaign for candidates and was seen eating fish and meat along with party workers at a local hotel in the city.
