Hyderabad Police debunk viral child-luring message

The Hyderabad police dismissed as false a viral social media message claiming that a woman was attempting to lure children in different localities. In a post on X, Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar issued a clarification labelling the circulating posts as “fake news” and confirmed that no such incidents or organised gangs have been reported in the city.

The message circulating about a woman who is trying to lure children in the city is completely false. No such incidents or gangs have been reported.

He urged citizens not to believe or forward unverified messages that could create unnecessary panic. The residents were advised to immediately inform the police if they notice any suspicious person or activity. Officials said all such inputs would be verified and appropriate action taken wherever necessary.

“Trust official information, not forwarded messages. Think, verify and act responsibly,” the Commissioner said, appealing for restraint and responsible use of social media.
