Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Thursday (May 21, 2026) has posted a health advisory on Ebola disease for passengers arriving from or transiting through high-risk countries, following alerts linked to cases reported in parts of Africa.

Three countries

The advisory, issued by the Airport Health Organisation (APHO) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, asks travellers from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and South Sudan to immediately report to airport health officials if they experience symptoms associated with Ebola.

Symptoms

According to the advisory, passengers showing symptoms such as fever, weakness or fatigue, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, unexplained bleeding and sore throat have been asked to seek immediate medical attention and inform authorities about their travel history.

Report to AHO or health desk

The advisory also states that passengers who had direct contact with the blood or body fluids of a person suspected or confirmed to have Ebola disease must report to the Airport Health Officer or health desk before immigration clearance.

The Health authorities have further asked that travellers developing symptoms within 21 days of arrival should immediately seek medical care and cooperate with public health screening measures.

The airport advisory comes as part of precautionary surveillance measures in line with International Health Regulations (IHR) and guidelines issued by the World Health Organization (WHO).
