Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu praised the services of home guards who were assisting the police in various departments.
Mr. Rajashekar, along with senior police officers, participated in the 63rd Home Guards Raising Day celebrations on Saturday.
He said that home guards were helping the police maintain law and order, technical and non-technical services in various departments.
In Eluru, Inspector General of Police G.V.G. Ashok Kumar inspected the guard of honour from the home guards during the celebrations. He hailed the services of home guards and advised them to be sincere and honest.
Jangareddygudem ASP Susmita extended greetings to the home guards. The Police Department is taking care of the home guards and their family members by extending medical aid, marriage grant and other facilities, the ASP said.
Home Guard Commandant A. Joshi, ASP N. Suryachandra Rao and other officers also participated in the programme.
In Krishna district, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) V.V. Naidu and ASP (Armed Reserve) B. Satyanarayana flagged off the rally organised by home guards at Machilipatnam.
